今天，Canonical 正式發表以 Ubuntu 為核心的智慧型手機作業系統－Ubuntu OS。它採用「無鍵設計」，整個手機正面並沒有按鍵，而基本操作主要都是以滑動來進行，例如在螢幕左邊的邊緣往右掃就可以打開常用 Apps 列表；而從螢幕右邊的邊緣往左掃就可以開啟最近開啟過的 Apps（多工處理）。
至於推出日期方面，Canonical 表示將會於 2014 年年初發表首台運行 Ubuntu Phone OS 的手機，而同時在本年內將會推出 Ubuntu for Android，跳轉後將可以看到 Ubuntu Phone OS 的宣傳影片及科技網站 The Verge 拍攝的動手玩影片。
