Parallels 終於公佈新一代的虛擬桌面軟體 Parallels Desktop 8 並將會於 9 月 4 日推出，雖然現時 Parallels 尚未公佈更多有關這個新版本的新功能，但幾乎可以確認的是它將會針對 OS X Mountain Lion 及 Windows 8 作出優化。而在 7 月 25 日（OS X Mountain Lion 推出的日子）後購買 Parallels Desktop 7 的用戶就可以獲得免費升級。
